DJ Mtshepang born Tshepo Nokeri has been in the music scene for three years, nurtured by a wide variety of influences, he possess a passionate craving for music. With his love and passion for music he started teaching himself several dj’ying and producing techniques. Many late nights were spent enthusiastically mastering his natural ability on the keyboard, engineering it into an undisputed skill whilst developing his own unique musical style. He was inspired by his music collection of Boddhi Satva, Osunlade, Djinji Brown, Mzee, Black Coffee and late legendary Fela Kuti. His name synonymous with what’s happening in both the music and “the global soul ” culture throughout the world. He is classified as a versatile producer/DJ. This is a producer known for his instant work in the genre of House, with hisglobal soul sounds. He has abandon the deep- afro music store life in order to try find something more suitable to ease his need for quality, with the music scene saturated with a lot of talented producers/DJs it was difficult to break into it. After the long usual slog of hard work in studio, he has built a strong international following.
He delivers uniquely both on the desks and on his production in terms of technique, tunes and concept of sound in a way few producers/DJs do. Further cementing on his status as one of the young key players in the music scene. It is no wonder his music caught the attention of Carlos Mena the co- founder of Ocha Records (with legendary Osunlade) who immediately signed the youngster to their stable based in Miami, FL USA. He has set pace young producers/DJs of his generation in music. He has the drive, the love, creativity and business mind-set that knows no limits. He is a student during the day and producer/DJ after hours. He humbly shares his music with whoever will lend an ear, giving his all to recreating and generating his own aspect in music, with an objective to make most out of his success. His music derives from what most would consider being core African elements to dancemusic with jazz influenced rhythms, melodies, chords, keys and vocals also a massive build-up of African instruments. His music much respected by the likes of legendary DJ Mbuso, Clive Bean, Ian Friday, Justin Imperiale, Lars Behrenroth, Mikki Afflick, Edground and other well- known producers/DJs.
His music has been licensed by labels like NuDeep Music (Bordeaux, France), Cabana Recordings (New Jersey, USA), Deeper Shades Of House (Los Angeles, USA), Grooveland Music (Taubate, Brazil), Bomba Records (South Africa) and a few others. On his short music career he has worked with international and local artists like CASAMENA, Tamara Wellons, Robert Carvalho, Carolyn Harding, Azee Project (of fame Brazilian Soul Crew), Tshepside and Lulama on track collaborations. He has done remixes for Ananda Projects, SoundQuest, Azee Projects, Brazilian Soul Crew, Sheyi, Carolyn Harding, and other more. Along with production and alias of work he also showcases his radio show Afrika’s Night on Greece based radio station Smoothtraxx Radio. He is the founder of Karanga Records which is a record label that focuses on bringing people together and promoting art and life from and influenced by Africans. His hard work comes from the mentorship of legendary DJ Ganyani and veteran Bhoza on business and personal affairs. His goal is to make people happy by not only being a real person but by trying to provide quality music and carrying the tradition of his legends that inspired him.
